This course gives the student an advanced knowledge of elevator anatomy and construction. We put a heavy emphasis on the hands-on field application, practices, and techniques vital to the safe mitigation of elevator emergencies. The student will learn elevator rescue techniques on both, traction electric and hydraulic elevators.
Some of the skills covered and practiced:
Top and side "picking" techniques for center and side openining and two speed elevator doors.
Elevator "poling" and "drifting" techniques.
Patient removal from a stalled elevator car.
Elevator Phase 1 and Phase 2 operations.
